How much does a courier earn in Prague?
A realistic look at daily and monthly income for Wolt, Bolt Food, and Foodora couriers in Prague — broken down by hours worked, order frequency, and costs.
Before you hop on a bike and start delivering in Prague, the first question is always the same: how much can I actually earn? The short answer is 150–250 Kč per hour depending on the platform, the time of day, and how efficiently you work your zone. The long answer requires a bit more context — which is what this article is for.
How courier pay works
All three major platforms — Wolt, Bolt Food, and Foodora — use a per-order model. Each completed delivery earns you a base rate (typically 55–90 Kč) plus a distance component that kicks in for longer routes. On top of that, surge bonuses apply during lunch (11:00–14:00) and dinner (18:00–21:00) rush hours, and on weekends.
Tips are rare in the Czech Republic — most customers pay by card and rarely add a tip through the app. Do not count on tips as a meaningful income source here.
Realistic hourly earnings by platform (2025)
Wolt: The most popular platform in Prague. High order density in Praha 1–3, Žižkov, and Vinohrady. Expect 160–220 Kč/hour during peak hours, and 100–140 Kč/hour off-peak.
Bolt Food: Strong in residential districts (Praha 6, 7, 8). Slightly lower base rates than Wolt, but promotional bonuses can compensate. Expect 140–190 Kč/hour at peak.
Foodora: Smaller market share than the other two, but reliable payout schedule and a well-designed app. Expect 130–180 Kč/hour peak.
Working all three platforms simultaneously (multi-apping) is technically possible but challenging to manage. Most experienced couriers focus on one or two and learn their zone deeply.
Monthly income scenarios
Part-time (20 hours/week): You can realistically earn 11,000–16,000 Kč per month. This is a popular setup for students or people with another income source.
Full-time (40+ hours/week): Dedicated couriers working peak hours consistently report 22,000–32,000 Kč per month. The upper end requires discipline — starting early, working both lunch and dinner slots, and choosing a high-density zone.
These figures are gross earnings before costs. The two biggest costs are bike rental (from 2,500 Kč/month at Just Rent Service) and phone data. If you own a bike, subtract only the data and maintenance estimate.
What affects your earnings most
Zone selection: Praha 1, 2, and 3 have the highest restaurant density and the shortest pickup-to-delivery distances. A courier working Žižkov typically completes more orders per hour than one working Letňany.
Bike type: An electric bike (e-bike) is significantly faster than a pedal bike or scooter in urban traffic, especially on hills. Couriers who switch from pedal bikes to e-bikes consistently report 15–25% more orders per hour on identical routes.
Shift timing: The first 30 minutes of a rush (11:00 and 18:00) usually have the highest surge bonuses. Log on before the surge starts.
App acceptance rate: All platforms track how often you accept vs. decline orders. High acceptance rates unlock better bonuses on Wolt and Bolt Food.
